Pictured here, is The Vincent Black Shadow. A local Vancouver band, who just released their new EP entitled "The Finest Crime". They played a show at the Media Club this past weekend, and I have to say, they rocked the place pretty hard.

The lead singer Nikki Hurst's vocals were amazing, as was her stage 'presence'. She was an absolute joy to listen to and to watch. The rest of the band (Robbie, Anthony, and Chris Kirkham and the gal on keys who's name I can't recall) were solid as a rock on Guitar, Drums, Bass, and Keys (respectively). They hammered through song after song, and thankfully pleased us all with an encore at the end. There may have also been some impromptu dancing with the crowd... ok there was. ;)

It was a total joy to photograph these folks. They all knew how to look good on stage for a camera, didn't 'pose' for the many cameras that were out in the crowd (I'm never a fan of forced poses) - and didn't seem to mind everyones flashbulbs going off repeatedly. (Plus they're a pretty good-looking band, so that helps when you're firing off a lot of photographs)

I learned quite a bit about shooting a show. There also was a nicely-geared photog opposite me who I was watching, checking out his shots too. Still can't figure out what lens he had on his D300s...
