Things to Look Forward To...
My 'name' is slowly getting out there.
After a lot of shameless self-promotion on Flickr, Facebook, and Twitter (they work if you know how to do it right) I recieved an offer to do a photo-shoot for a new brand of scooter to be introduced into Canada.
I'm excited for this for a few reasons:
- It's something that interests me. (I'm a scooterist)
- It's going to be technically challenging. (Lighting, setup, etc)
- It let's me think outside the box. (Shoot ideas, location ideas, 'action' shots)
- It supports a local shop, and the local scooterist community
- It can certainly count towards my portfolio
For this type of shoot, I'm properly equipped. I know how I'd light it. I know the angles I'd shoot from. I know what settings I'd use for great exposures. I have ideas on what tpyes of alternative shots I'd like to do. I already planned locations and other ideas for the shoot. So I'm pretty excited about it.
And a total bonus, I'll have a friend assisting me as well. Which will alleviate some of the technical challenges of the shoot.
There's no set date when this will be happening, likely sometime in the next month or less (waiting for the actual products to arrive). That's fine by me, I can plan more ideas, iron out some details, and once it comes time to shoot, I should be well-prepared.
If I could do just that for a living...
