Snagged this little beauty in some alleyway along Commercial Drive and McSpadden. Was going on a 'quickie' photo-walk while doing some Christmas shopping with a few of my guy-friends at the same time. (This is always tricky because they didn't seem to constantly want to wait for me while I found shot after shot)

That can be tricky. It's unfortunately also a good way to miss shots. Which is also a good reason to bring your camera wherever you go and shoot often. That way, your friends will kind of get used to the constant pauses, and hopefully laugh it off. "Oh it's just Nelson being all artsy again, ha-ha."

This is also another good reason to take a notepad and pen with you when you go out too. You see a shot? Forgot your camera? (FOR SHAME!) Can't take the shot because you're on the bus/in a car/with friends? Write it down. Now, if you're shooting graffiti, well, next time you get back the shot may be gone (er, painted over) - but you never know.

So, that's just my two bits of advice. I love this shot by the way. Simple. Clean. Gets the point across.
